Wattpad
FreeA social storytelling platform where people read and write original stories, with apps for Android and iOS.
About Wattpad
Wattpad is a community platform for reading and publishing stories. Writers post chapters of original fiction, fan fiction and other genres, and readers follow them, vote, and comment on individual passages. The app is available for Android and iOS.
Readers can browse by genre and tag, build a library and download stories to read offline. Writers can draft, edit and publish from the app, and inline comments give quick feedback from the audience. Much of the catalogue is free to read, with ad-supported access and optional premium plans that the listings describe through in-app purchases.
It suits readers who enjoy serial stories and aspiring writers looking for an audience. Because the content is user-generated, quality and maturity vary, so use the content and age settings. A free account is needed to follow writers, build a library and publish. The Play listing declares ads, and the free tier is largely supported by advertising rather than a fee for readers.
Content is written by members, so quality varies widely. Use the follow and library tools to find authors you enjoy.
