Google Play Books
FreeGoogle Play Books is a reading and listening app for ebooks, audiobooks, comics and manga bought from the Google Play store.
About Google Play Books
Google Play Books is Google's app for reading ebooks and listening to audiobooks, and for browsing comics and manga. You buy or rent titles in Google Play, and your library follows you across your phone, tablet and the web.
The app supports adjustable text, night themes, bookmarks and notes, plus audiobook playback with speed controls, and it can read downloaded books offline. You can also upload your own EPUB and PDF files to your library. It works alongside Google's wider ecosystem, and some audiobooks can be bought without a subscription. Compared with Kindle, it is more open to uploading your own files, which suits personal libraries.
It suits Android users and anyone who prefers buying from Google. The app is free, but most titles are paid, and a Google account is required. On iOS the app has far fewer ratings than the Android version, so its experience may be less polished there.
Purchases are tied to your Google account. Upload your own EPUB files if you also keep a personal collection.
