Waterfox
FreeFirefox-based browser focused on privacy and customisation, developed independently of Mozilla.
About Waterfox
Waterfox is a web browser based on Firefox and developed by BrowserWorks. It is available for Windows, macOS and Linux and describes itself as a privacy-focused browser offering speed, control and peace of mind.
Because it is built from the Firefox codebase, it supports Firefox add-ons and many of the same features, including container tabs and detailed settings. Waterfox removes some Mozilla services and telemetry, includes privacy-oriented defaults, and gives users extra choices over the interface. The project has a long history and has kept pace with Firefox releases.
It suits Firefox users who prefer a browser maintained independently of Mozilla and who like control over how it behaves. Waterfox is free to use and its code is released under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. As an independent fork with a small team, it depends on Firefox's upstream work for security fixes, so updates can arrive slightly after Mozilla's own. There is no official mobile version in our directory.
A sensible option if you want Firefox without Mozilla's services. Keep it updated, as security fixes follow upstream Firefox.
