About Netflix
Netflix is a subscription streaming service for TV series, films, documentaries and mobile games. The apps let you browse by genre, get personalised suggestions, keep a watch list, and pick up where you left off on another device.
The app itself is free to download, but you need a Netflix account and an active plan to watch. Plan tiers vary by country, so check the official site for what applies where you live. The latest iOS release notes mention player improvements. Google Play shows more than a billion downloads and the App Store lists over seven million ratings.
It suits households that want a large catalogue of original and licensed titles with little effort. Downloads for offline viewing are supported on mobile apps on eligible plans and titles. Profiles let each member of a household keep separate recommendations, and parental controls are available. Content differs by region and changes over time.
Plans and pricing vary by country, so check the official site before signing up.
