Greenshot
FreeA lightweight, open-source Windows screenshot tool with built-in annotation and quick export options.
About Greenshot
Greenshot is a screenshot tool for Windows that captures a region, window or full screen with a hotkey and then lets you annotate the image before saving or sharing it.
The built-in editor adds shapes, text, highlights and obfuscation to hide sensitive details, and captures can be saved to a file, copied to the clipboard, printed or sent to other applications. It is deliberately small and simple compared with larger capture suites.
Greenshot suits people writing documentation, reporting bugs or giving feedback who want fast annotated screenshots without a heavy workflow. It does not focus on screen recording.
The software is free and open source under the GPL. Release 1.3.315 includes a fix for a security advisory, along with stability fixes and reduced installation leftovers, so keeping it updated is sensible. Its small size and minimal settings make it easy to roll out across several machines, which is useful in offices where staff need a consistent way to capture screens.
Good for quick annotated screenshots. Pick ShareX if you want screen recording and automation.
