Tripadvisor
FreeA travel planning app with traveller reviews, rankings and booking for hotels, restaurants, tours and attractions.
About Tripadvisor
Tripadvisor is a travel platform known for reviews from other travellers. The app helps you decide where to stay, eat and what to do, using ratings, photos and written reviews for hotels, restaurants and attractions.
You can save places to trip plans, compare prices from booking partners, and book some tours and activities. The listing mentions rewards for planning, booking and sharing. Travellers can also post their own reviews and photos, which feeds the rankings other people use.
It suits travellers who like to read first-hand opinions before choosing and who want a single place for research. The app is free. The Google Play listing declares ads, and Tripadvisor earns money from advertising and booking commissions rather than charging users. An account is needed to save trips, post reviews and use some features. Remember that reviews can be uneven, so read several and check dates. It works well for researching a destination before you go, then saving the places you like into a plan you can use on the day.
Treat rankings as one input. Read recent reviews and look at the mix of ratings, not only the average.
