Microsoft OneNote
FreeA digital notebook app from Microsoft for typed, handwritten and clipped notes that sync across devices.
About Microsoft OneNote
Microsoft OneNote is a digital notebook for organising notes in notebooks, sections and pages. You can type, draw or write by hand, add images and files, and arrange content freely on the page.
It runs on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS, and syncs through a Microsoft account, so notes are available across devices. OneNote works well with other Microsoft apps and is often used for class notes, meeting notes and personal planning. The Google Play listing shows no in-app purchases.
The app is free to use with a Microsoft account, with extra storage available through Microsoft OneDrive plans. We do not quote prices here. It suits students and people already using Microsoft services, especially those who take handwritten notes on tablets. The free-form canvas is flexible but less structured than databases in tools like Notion, and the latest release notes describe a bug-fix-only update. Notebooks can also be opened in a web browser, which helps if you sometimes work on a computer where you cannot install software.
Plan your notebook structure early, since sections and pages cannot be reorganised as flexibly as tags.
