KeePassXC
FreeOpen-source offline password manager that stores an encrypted database file on your own device.
About KeePassXC
KeePassXC is a community-developed password manager for Windows, macOS and Linux. It is a cross-platform take on the original KeePass and stores passwords, notes and other secrets in an encrypted database file that you control, rather than on a company's servers.
It supports the KDBX database format used by other KeePass apps, generates strong passwords, produces time-based one-time codes and can fill logins through browser extensions and Auto-Type. Recent versions added passkey support, handle nested-folder imports from Bitwarden and improve browser integration. SSH agent and YubiKey options are also available.
KeePassXC suits people who prefer to keep data local and who are comfortable managing their own backups and syncing, for example through a cloud drive. It is completely free and open source under the GPL, with no account or subscription. There is no official mobile app, so Android and iOS users rely on compatible third-party KeePass apps. The latest release notes warn that a passkey flag change may break some existing passkeys, so read them before updating.
You are responsible for backups and syncing the database file. Read the release notes before updating, as the latest passkey change may break existing passkeys.
