ibis Paint X
Freeibis Paint X is a drawing and illustration app with a large brush library, layers and time-lapse recording of your work.
About ibis Paint X
ibis Paint X is a digital painting and drawing app that began on phones and tablets and is also available for Windows. It offers a large collection of brushes, layers with blend modes, vector tools, filters and fonts, and it records your drawing process so you can export it as a time-lapse video.
It is well suited to hobbyist illustrators, manga and anime fans and anyone sketching on a tablet or phone. The Android listing shows more than 100 million downloads and the App Store listing shows close to 300,000 ratings, so there is a very large community around it, including a gallery where users share artwork.
The app is free to download. Both stores flag in-app purchases, and the Android listing also shows ads. A paid Prime membership removes ads and unlocks extra features, while one-time purchases and add-ons cover additional material. Recent release notes mention support for stylus tablets and keyboard shortcuts, which shows the app is being actively maintained for more serious use.
A good free starting point for phone illustration. Expect ads until you upgrade.
