Epic Games Launcher
FreeEpic Games' desktop launcher for the Epic Games Store, game library and Unreal Engine.
About Epic Games Launcher
The Epic Games Launcher is the desktop client for the Epic Games Store. It lets you browse and buy games, install and update the titles in your library and manage your account. The winget description also notes that it is the launcher for Unreal Engine.
The store regularly offers free games, and the launcher is where they are claimed and downloaded. It also hosts Fortnite and other Epic titles, and developers use it to install and manage versions of Unreal Engine.
The launcher suits PC gamers who want access to Epic's catalogue and to its free game offers, and Unreal Engine developers. An Epic account is required to sign in.
The launcher is free to install. Games and add-ons are sold individually, and some are free. Official downloads cover Windows and macOS, and the launcher is heavier on resources than a minimal client. Free game offers change over time, and claimed games stay in your library, so it is worth signing in regularly if that is why you installed the launcher.
Useful if you want the free game offers or Unreal Engine. Check available storage before queuing large downloads.
