Aegis Authenticator
FreeA free, open source Android app for storing and generating two-factor authentication codes, with an encrypted local vault.
About Aegis Authenticator
Aegis Authenticator is an open source two-factor authentication app for Android. It generates time-based (TOTP) and counter-based (HOTP) one-time codes, so it works with any service that accepts Google Authenticator.
Codes are kept in a vault on your device. You can protect the vault with a password, which encrypts it, and optionally unlock it with fingerprint or face recognition. Entries can be grouped, reordered and given custom icons, which helps once you have a long list of accounts. The Play Store listing shows no ads and no in-app purchases.
Aegis does not require an account and does not sync to a cloud service on its own. Backups are exported as files, which you store where you choose. That suits people who want full control of their tokens and are comfortable managing their own backups, but it means a lost phone without a backup means lost codes. It is free to use.
Export an encrypted backup and keep a copy off the phone before relying on it. Aegis has no built-in cloud sync, so the backup is your only recovery path.
